FAQs
Q. Are your classes open to those under 18?
A. It really depends on how mature they are. There won't be anyone close to their age. The general age range is late 20s to early 60s with most being 25-40.
Often, the presence of someone so young can make older people feel uneasy about interacting with them so I tend to dissuade people so young from attending. however, if the under 18 year-old in question is mature for their age and understands they will be with much older people, then it will likely be fine.
Improv for New Friends
A space to play and laugh with others! Improv comedy uses several techniques to create laughter. These include, creating an atmosphere free of judgement, saying ‘yes’, active listening, being positive, and putting your focus on others.
Duo Improv Class for Stage and Life
For beginner/intermediate improvisers and non-improvisers. We work on connecting, being in the moment, and much more.
*Note - you do not have to sign up with a partner. “Duo” , in this case, means you will do most of your work with one other person, not a group.
Improv For Performance
This Drop In is for performers, or those wishing to get on stage. We feature a rotating series of classes focusing on different aspects of performing types and formats. Students who take part in these drop ins may be invited to participate in SoCap Comedy shows and get stage time.
