FAQ

  • Do you have age restrictions?

There are no age restrictions for performances. However, unless otherwise specified, most shows may contain mature language and themes and will not be appropriate for under 16s. We do not police the content of shows. Service at the bar may require government ID to prove 19+

  • What time should I arrive for a show?

Access to the theatre is typically 15-30 minutes prior to the show start time. On busy nights the bar is very full, so make sure you get here with plenty of time to grab a drink on the 2nd floor prior to finding your seats.

  • Is food available?

Although we have some small snacks such as chips, Socap Comedy does not currently sell food. However you are welcome to bring in external food.

  • Parking

Street parking on Danforth is limited. There is a Green P Parking Lot around the corner off of Ellerbeck Avenue (behind the Shopper’s Drugmart). There is also free street parking in residential side streets after 6pm.

  • Accessibility

As we are located on the 2nd and 3rd floors, this is not an accessible venue. However, we will do our best to accommodate those who may need it. If we can carry an assistive device or wait with you for Wheel Trans or help you plan a special show, we want to help.

    Steps
    On entry: one small step.
Second floor: (mainstage theatre and bar): 12-15 narrow steps with handrails
Third floor (upstairs theatre and bathrooms): 10-12 narrow steps with handrails.

Scent-free environment: As this is a public space this cannot be guaranteed

Noise and light: Hallways and bar have medium lighting. 3rd floor landing and bathrooms can be considered bright. Theatres are dim or dark, but stage lights are bright and may include flashing lights. Expect loud music and conversation in all spaces.

  • Covid-19

As of March 21st, SoCap Comedy will follow the guidelines of Toronto Public Health and end mask mandates and return both theatre to full capacity seating. This, in effect, returns us to the times before COVID.
However, we strongly encourage everyone to get vaccinated and enthusiastically support those that wish to continue wearing masks, physically distance, and wash their hands.
We will also continue to monitor public health recommendations, and make changes as the ongoing pandemic requires.
