These are some of the most hands-on improv and comedy courses in Toronto — closer to a comedy school than a one-off comedy class. Course terms run on a seasonal schedule and fill up; early-bird pricing is often available. Questions about which course fits, or don't see the next intake? Email admin@socap.ca.
The biggest myth about improv is that you need to be funny, when just being your true self and honest in the moment is always more than enough, and it can take time to get there. For many of our students, whether they're training at acting or not, improv is a journey of self-discovery. And it's a whole lotta' fun.
Whether you're an improviser wondering why you've hit a plateau, an actor who wants to get better at being in the moment, a manager who wants to be a more effective communicator, or you're just interested in human beings, you might find something very useful in these classes.
Think of it as proper improvisation training, part comedy class, part workshop, part the most fun you'll have on a weeknight in Toronto.
