Improv for Performance Drop In - Get On Stage

About this event

This class focuses on what it takes to be engaging, to have an audience enjoy your work. We work on controlling what YOU, the performer, can control. You can’t control being ‘funny’, you can’t control if an audience likes you, you can’t control being ‘good’ (a meaningless phrase) but we’ll focus on what you CAN control.

We also look at building a show from the moment the doors open until the final good byes.

Instructor – Ralph MacLeod – email ralph@socap.ca to ask your questions!

"Ralph MacLeod was my first improv teacher and without him, I would not have the career I do today. Ralph's knowledge and talent are matched only by his love of the art form and his ability to support and encourage. I owe him a huge debt." - Jan Caruana (Second City Mainstage)

Ralph created a space that continuously gave you stage time, which is the best gift you could give any improviser or comedian, and an amazing crowd (also best gift in different way) and I would never have gained the confidence and my own comedic voice if it had not have been for Ralph's support, his shows, his creativity and his trust! - Kris Siddiqi (Second City Mainstage)

"I will always be grateful to Ralph MacLeod. He was the first to provide me (and many others) an opportunity to perform regularly, in shows like Macro Neato and A Night At The Improv, and through his brilliant directing made even the greenest of us look great. Above all, he taught me to trust my instincts and to always, always, always say YES." Connor Thompson (Second City Mainstage)
