Stricter Fun Control Laws: An Almost Robots Sketch Show
June 5 @ 9:30 pm$8 tickets available at the door
It’s a sketch show! It’ll be weird, you’ll have a chuckle, and we’ll all go home happy.
But in all seriousness, folks, if you wake up one day and find that you’re deficient in Vitamins A and D, see a doctor. If that son of a muckraker’s worth his salt as a physician, he’ll prescribe you some g*ddamned vitamin A and some godd*mned Vitamin D–in this specific and not-all-that-skilful-of-a-metaphor kind of case, the A is absurdism, and the D is dark humour. And if that doctor’s anything less than an idiot quack who deserves to be barred from practice post-haste, he’ll follow that prescription right up with a reasonably-priced ticket to an unreasonably fun show: this one.
The sketch show so jam-packed with strange, earnest hilarity, we didn’t have room for decent promotional copy in the description.
But absolutely do not take this Facebook event’s word for it. Here’s what critics are saying, will say, or have already said about the show:
“Why did we get Tosh.0 instead of this?” – Gene Siskel
“I liked the part where they yelled. There was really something there.” – Gus Van Sant, Academy Award-winning director of Goodwill Hunting and other films
“Now these kids… They know comedy.” – Michael Richards, Disgraced Comedian
“Nietzche was right, there is no God.” – Dale Earnhardt, Jr.
With even more sketch by:
The Diamond Boi Experience
Almost Robots are:
5 twenty-somethings, navigating their way through life in New York City in the ‘90s. Will they ever run out of fun, wacky antics? When not crying alone or performing together, you can find them loitering at Central Perk, the local java bar/ hip neighbourhood jazz café.
