Eight candidates. One Position. Who will be the finalist?
How do you train a Therapeutic Clown? It’s a story about best practice. And it’s a story about why it matters.
A short Q and A follows with Helen Donnelly, filmmaker and Therapeutic Clown practitioner.
ABOUT THE FILMMAKER:
An alumna of Cirque du Soleil, Helen Donnelly was born in Flamborough and moved to Toronto in 1987. She is a theatrical, circus and therapeutic clown practitioner in healthcare. Helen has held workshops and presented at conferences globally on clowning in theatre and healthcare and has recently created the world’s second school for Therapeutic Clowning, beginning this fall at George Brown College.
This film showcases the hidden world of healthcare clowning.
This is the first time a film has traced the complete path of a clown’s development in hospital from audition to end of training.
Proceeds toward Helen’s Therapeutic Clown Certificate Program scholarship fund.
